Resources are the materials used to build and maintain the colony. They can be sourced through digging, geysers, critters, falling from space and other sources.

Resources have a type and associated properties that define how the Duplicants can use and interact with them.

A full relational list of all elements, their uses and their sources can be found in the Oni Assistant Database.

Most survival-critical resources have complex conversion relationships with one another, allowing for Resource Cycling from basic inputs such as a Water Geyser.

Elements[ | ]

Elements are minerals, metals and compounds. Some elements exist in the map, some elements are produced in certain buildings, and some are obtainable only via space missions.

Elements have three states: Solid, Liquid, Gas.

Solid elements are further organized into different types:

Plants[ | ]

Plants in the game are flora life in a general sense. Some plants can be made into food, and others serve purely decorative purpose. A wild Plant may need light, temperature range, atmosphere to grow. A domestic Plant may further need certain Resources as fertilizer.

Critters[ | ]

Critters in the game are fauna life in a general sense. Critters have multiple uses. Some critter meat and eggs can be made into food. Some critters can refine metal ores into refined metal. Some critters are quite beautiful and provide high decoration bonus.

Critters need food and temperature range. Some critters require certain atmosphere.

General mechanics[ | ]

  • Temperature of resources transfers to the building build with them, but only partially. There are minimum and maximum temperature ranges.
